By Bob O'Connor, Channel 2, Littleton, NH One of the most popular programs here in Littleton is a review of the local week’s news, “This Is The Week That Was”. I simply clip out items of local interest from the daily Caledonian Record and the weekly Littleton Courier (with permission) during the week and then on Fridays I give a 30 minute Reader’s Digest version of the clippings. I have had as much positive feedback on this program as I have had on any show. I include photos from the papers and video clips that may complement the various articles. On a slow news week I might insert a historical note, or a clip on something of local interest. This program is especially appreciated by our older audience, some who no longer subscribe to newspapers or have problems with the small print, but still want to keep up with local happenings. This program and Political Chowder help keep viewers up on local and state news. (0) Discuss This Article |

By Peter Johnson Residents in Nashua are beginning to see more local programming on their government and education channels in recent months. The government channel has been covering more city meetings and has jury-rigged a makeshift server to provide additional meeting replays over the weekends. In late 2006, Comcast lit up a new education channel as a part of the city’s franchise agreement. However, the channel sat idle during most of 2007 airing occasional Board of Education meetings and the annual Turkey Bowl football game. In December though, the city hired Peter Johnson as E-Channel Administrator to run the education channel on a fulltime basis. Now in addition to live board of education meetings, they are able to tape and replay committee meetings and have started covering some sports and other educational events. (0) Discuss This Article |

By Bill Jennings and Eric Wittenburg The following write up was provided by Eric Wittenburg, a member of the Bedford Presbyterian Church and BCTV volunteer whose program "By You Bound" won first place in the Religious Professional Category in this year's ACM-NE Video Festival. The production dealt with the church's continuing efforts to help Hurricane Katrina victims in New Orleans. He and his wife attended the festival in White Plains, New York and he sent his thoughts of the event to the rest of the congregation who participated in the production and the BCTV staff. As a first time volunteer at BCTV, his comments represent everything we hope that all of our volunteers will come to realize; that there is no better place to get your message out than PEG access television.
